William Thomson

1931-2014

William Thomson, born March 16, 1931 painted landscapes, cityscapes, interior and figurative works most often with use of warm, rich, earth tones, creating a haunting and intriguing atmosphere, regardless of the subject matter.

He worked in acrylic, encaustic, egg tempera, as well as oil to watercolor.

Thomson’s work is included in numerous international museum and university collections; New Britain Museum of American Art, Holyoke Museum of Art & History, Mattatuck Museum, DeCordova Museum, Berkshire Museum, and Slater Museum.

The artist died October 9, 2014.
