Vivian De Pinna

1883 - 1978)

De Pinna was part of the Provincetown modernist art movement and was a student of legendary artist/teacher Hans Hoffman.

Vivian (Foster) De Pinna was a suffragist and an abstract artist, but occasionally did impressiontic pieces as well.

While on Cape Cod, she owned and lived in a property on Commercial Street in Provincetown owned previously by another famous artist, Ross Moffett.

Her husband had been president of the De Pinna clothing stores of New York, once owned the house. She passed away at age 95 in Connecticut.

Her work was collected by Walter P. Chrysler Jr. among many others. It is also in the permanent collection of the Provincetown Art Association and Museu , a place where she regularly exhibited.
