Vivaldo Martini was born in 1908 in Bellinzona, Switzerland, and died in 1990 in Geneva.

He exhibited extensively in Europe, mainly in Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Israel.

Martini had a workshop where he trained artists such as Jean-Pierre Colinge, including the artist Geneviève Paris.

At a young age Martini became a renowned and sought-after portrait painter always applying his own unique style.

Notable works:

  • Series 4 oval portrait paintings of Anna Eynard-Lullin, Jean-Gabriel Eynard, Adelaide Sara Pictet Rochemont and Charles Pictet de Rochemont.
  • Portrait of Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume exhibited at the Museum of violin and bow making Mirecourt French.
  • The table "Phaedra and Ariadne griffin in Knossos palace", dated 1981.
