Robert Bouchet was an artist in Montmartre; He began exhibiting in 1922 at the Salon des Artistes Français, as well as the Salon d’Automne and the Salon des Tuileries.

Bouchet’s canvases are rich with the romance of Paris of the 1920s. His use of color and composition are typical of the Parisian Modernist School.

Bouchet was not only a painter; he gained world recognition as a guitar maker. He developed the “Methode Bouchet” which is widely used in guitar making. He did not produce a large number of instruments, but they are highly sought after by collectors. Later in his life he also became an accomplished guitar player.

Robert Bouchet died in 1986.
