Pierre Garcia-Fons

Born in 1928

Fons was born in Badalona near Barcelona. In 1938 , arrived in France . In Spain, it is civil war. Lives in Perpignan where he attended evening classes at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. In the years after the war, he reigns a stimulating cultural effervescence.

In 1950 moved to Paris . He studied at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere and frequent painters Cueco , Clave , Rebeyrolle , Buffet, Valls , Arroyo and many others ... His painting is marked by the influence of Cezanne and Bonnard .

In 1956 , received a Travel Award from the State and the Antral price . Began exhibiting at the Salon of " La Jeune Peinture " where he will be among the organizers , becoming board member and Vice -Chairman until 1967.

In 1958, gets Fénéon price . He participates annually in various rooms: Autumn, comparisons , Salon de Mai, Paris Biennale ... Nearly fifty special exhibitions it will be spent mainly in Paris, Perpignan, Chartres, New York, Nantes, Grenoble , Chicago, Tokyo Caracas, Lausanne, Ceret, Palm Springs , Fort de Bellegarde Le Perthus , Fort -de- France ... which show a gradual evolution , with no real break with a sensual and exhilarating approach to the visual design to a mental giving free rein to the imagination.
