Jacque Maurice Pecnard

1922-2012

Jacques Pecnard was a French illustrator and painter.

During the 1950s and 1960s he was one of the artists of the vertical newspaper strips 'Les Amours Célèbres' and 'Le Crime ne paie pas' by Paul Gordeaux for France-Soir.

He also made drawings for Elle, Fémina and several books by Parisian publishing houses such as Hachette, Flammarion, Rouge et Or and Larousse.

From the 1970s he started to focus on painting. He is specially known for his portraits of Charles De Gaulle.
