Marie Cornelissen

Portrait and figure painter; illustrator of children's books. Born in Paris on 23rd April 1855, neé Cornelissen.

Educated in Paris, London and Germany. Studied art at the RA Schools.

Exhibited at the principal London galleries from 1873, mainly at the Royal Academy and Suffolk Street.

Married the painter John Seymour Lucas in 1877. Lived in London and died on 25th November 1921.
