Lucien Geraci 1923-2005 Born on March 13, 1923 in New Haven Connecticut, he studied at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1948. He became a Skowhegan (Maine) School of Painting and Sculpture scholar in 1948 and subsequently went to study abroad. Geraci received certificates from the Academie Julian in 1948-49, and the Beaux Arts Academie in 1949, both in Paris. He also studied at the Italian Academy in Rome, receiving a certificate in 1950. Returning to the U.S., he studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (B.F.A., 1953). Exhibitions: Awards: His work is present in private and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad. He was the owner of the Art Gallery 123, in Lancaster, PA, from 1958-59; designer and stylist at the Hygiene Company, New York, Maartex, Cannon Mills, Armstrong Cork, from 1955-1970; president and owner of Geraci Galleries in Rockport, Mass., from 1978 to 1998. Member: Geraci painted portraits, landscapes, seascapes, and still life capturing the indigenous character and culture of Cape Ann where he lived and worked.
