Leon Gordon

1889-1943

Leon Gordon was born in 1889 in Borisov, Russia. He is best known as a portrait painter.

Gordon lived for periods of time in Paris and New York City. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League in NYC, the Academie Julian in Paris and the Kunst Academy in Vienna.

He exhibited with the Society of Independent Artists in 1917, and was a member of the Salmagundi Club in NYC and the Society of Illustrators.

Gordon died in Tallahassee, FL in 1943.
