Pauline Khuri-Majoli

Born 1927

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, February 25, 2017. She received both her BA and MA degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles.

She was a private student of the internationally known American painter and founder of Synchronism, Stanton Macdonald-Wright. Working with Wright, she developed a strong sense of color, which she explored, using still life as a primary subject.
She was Professor of Art at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.

In 1987, the university honored her with a retrospective exhibition, which was accompanied by a catalogue of her work. Pauline Khuri Majoli has won various awards and is represented in many private collections both in the United States and Europe. She spends part of each year painting in France.

She exhibited extensively starting in Los Angeles in 1947 with a solo exhibition at the Los Angeles Art Association. She had many more solo exhibitions, she exhibited at Gallery Trancas in 1958, Ivory Tower Gallery in 1963, Sacha Brastoff Gallery in 1964, Marymount College in 1966, Helen Drue Gallery in 1975-1981, all in the Los Angeles area. In 1986 she exhibited in Paris at the Galerie du Marais. In 1987 she had a retrospective at the Lizardi-Harp Gallery in Pasadena, and again 1n 1990. In 2003 she had an exhibition at the Gallery Grace in Laguna Beach.

She participated often in group exhibitions from 1959-2008, including Art Space, Matrix in San Francisco, San Bernardino Museum of Art, and manymore.
