James L. Montague

Born 1906

James L. Montague was born in New Rochelle, New York.

He studied at Darmouth College in 1928 and the Art

Students League with Kimon Nicolaides and in Paris with Leger and Ozenfant.

Her was a member of the Art Students League, National Arts Club, and the print club of Albany, NY.

He exhibited at various group shows and solo exhibitions in New England and New York. He won an award at the Fitchburg Museum in 1962, Print Club of Albany in 1970, and at the Norwich University.

His work is in several permanent collections and museums.
