Born 1893

Georges- Pierre Guinegault was born in Rennes, France on March 27, 1893. As a 19-year-old boy began his fine art studies at l’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.

Beginning in 1920 he exhibited at the Paris salons.

He became a member of the Société des Artistes Français and exhibited extensively with this group.

Guinegault painted many Orientalist scenes but is best known for his paintings of women. He painted seductive nudes and portraits of fashionable ingénues. His style is very similar to the works of Jean-Gabriel Domergue, and his signature is also similar.

He illustrated several books including Heures Galantes. Quatre Poemes, by Jean Noury, c.1920.

The date of Guinegault’s death is unknown.
