Floyd Butler 1918-1975 Butler was originally from Michigan. He lived in Greenwich Village in the late 1940s. Butler Studied at the Meinsinger School of Art, at the Corcoran School and The Art Students League in New York. He painted in the Village and then returned to Lansing Michigan where he lived most of his life. Butler exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1942, a work titled Shadow over the Day. He painted portraits, nudes and genre scenes. His style is modern, bold and colorful with some cubist elements.
