Neumann traveled a lot in his life: He visited the Netherlands, Belgium, England and Germany, stayed in Vienna for some time and traveled to the US and around Palestine in the 1920s.

In Jerusalem, he taught at the Academy of Art and Design in Bezalel.

The artist primarily painted landscapes but portraits and genre scenes, interiors and still lifes belong to his oeuvre as well.  During the era of national socialism Neumann was detained in the Krakow Ghetto where he created (self) portraits.
