Cynthia Norton Eckstrom
1925-2015

She was born on November 20, 1925 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

She spent summers in Mulberry Point while growing up. Cynthia graduated from RI School of Design with a BFA Degree and worked as a freelance illustrator and was a contributing artist for Fine Arts Publication in NYC.

She also studied at the Philadelphia Museum and P.G. at CT College. She was a past president of the New Haven Paint & Clay Club, she was also a member of the CT Academy of Fine Arts, The CT H2O Society and board member of the Shoreline Alliance for the Fine Arts.

As an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at the Paier College of Art in Hamden, she taught for 13 years before returning to paint full time in her studio.

She has had four solo shows and won awards in many regional and national events, such as the Salmagundi Club, Allied Artists of America, National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic and the Audubon Artists.

Her work is represented in a number of corporate and private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
