The dates of Godard's life are not known in the literature.

He made numerous chryselephantine statuettes made of bronze and ivory in the Art Deco style for the Edmond Etling foundry, among others.

In the 1920s and 1930s he exhibited in Paris at the salons of the Société des Artistes Français.

At the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937, he showed a 4.5 meter high monumental statue and a patinated plaster sculpture.
