Arcadio Cancio was born in Cuba in 1952 he made his first work in the Lyceum of Guanabacoa.

In 1972 he began exhibiting in the United States, mostly in Florida, and he has it more than fifty times.
In the prologue of the catalog for his recent exhibition held in September 2001, William Navarrete writes: The artist is faithful to an era that extends into Cuban time, to a feeling and a precise geography. His art is faithful in that nothing seems to disturb the peace with which his Evas meditate slowly in front of the mirror.

In Cancio there is a universal theme: that of man and his environment, which, based on the particularity of Cuba, is reflected in the contemplative expectation of the individual immersed in nothingness, the paradoxical tropical cold, the emptiness and the absence of expectation of the Cuban in the midst of of your life and your cities.
