Amy Londoner

1878-1953

Amy Londoner was born in Lexington, MO in 1878. She was the pupil of Robert Henri and John Sloan, both members of the Immortal Eight and founders of the Ashcan School.

Londoner exhibited at the Salons of America, the Society of Independent Artists in 1910 and from 1918-1943, and the landmark Armory Show of 1913, among others.

She was a member of the Art Students’ League of New York, The Society of Independent Artists, and the League of New York Artists.

She later went on to teach art at the anarchist Ferrer Modern School. Londoner died in 1953.
