Albert Genta was a son of Joseph Hyacinthe Genta. He taught himself art in the free academies in Paris.
He exhibited in Paris at a number of salons, including the Salon des Indépendants, to which he belonged, the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he was a member and where he won a gold medal in 1970, and at the Salon des Beaux-Arts. He was involved with various groups.
