Jack Keijo Steele

1919-2003

Steele is one of Michigan’s most important Regionalist painters who trained at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in the 1930s and 40s along with fellow artists David Fredenthal and Harry Bertoia.

Steele has been the subject of a major retrospective at the Cranbrook Art Museum and his work has recently been included in several traveling exhibitions of American Scene painting.
